Day 01:             Kochi ( Cochin )

Arrive at Kochi (Cochin). You are met & Transferred to your Hotel.

Kochi (also known as Cochin) is a city in Costal Kerala in  southwest India. It has been a port since 1341, when a flood carved out its harbor and opened it to Arab, Chinese and European merchants. You can still feel the influence in the  Fort Kochi area –  a settlement with tiled colonial bungalows and diverse houses of worship.  Chinese fishing nets, typical of Kochi, have been in use for centuries.

Day 02:             Kochi

In the morning we leave for a tour of Cochin. We visit the St. Francis considered the first European Church in India, built in 1562 by St. Francis; this is India’s oldest European-built church. Continue on to Mattancherry Dutch Palace (closed on Friday & Public Holiday), a double-storied palace. The most important feature of Mattancherry Palace is the murals in the bedchambers, which depict scenes from the Ramayana, Mahabharata. These murals are some of the most beautiful and extensive, one of the wonders of India.

Proceed to the Jewish Synagogue (closed on Saturdays), which was constructed in 1568 and is the oldest in the Commonwealth. While driving along the coastline, at the Harbour’s mouth, one can also view the unique and still-in-use “Chinese Fishing Nets” which were introduced by the Chinese traders in the 14th Century. The tour ends in the Fort Kochi area where you can walk through the historical Dutch and Portuguese buildings. Some parts of this nearly 500-year-old Fort are still amazingly well preserved.

Return to the hotel after the visit, rest of the day is free.

In the evening you will witness Kathakali Dance Show, India’s most spectacular Dance Drama based on stories from Ramayana and Mahabharata. The dancers are elaborately made up of paint and masks, accompanied by drummers and musicians. We reach the theatre early to get a chance to see the dancers getting ready for the show and their faces being painted. Overnight is at Hotel

Day 03:             Kochi – Periyar (150 Kms / 04 hrs)

In the morning you will drive to Periyar.

Afternoon, we explore the Spice plantations tour by Jeep. This exotic land reminds of a colorful impressionistic painting stirred to life as if by a miracle. Thekkady’s fantabulous landscape is diffused with exotic spice plantations, green carpets of endless tea gardens and lush tropical forests. Garbed in vibrant hues and bountiful gifts of nature, Thekkady offers a perfect romantic escapade into the soothing laps of Mother Nature. Lunch is at the Spice Farm.

After the visit we return to the hotel.

Day 04:           Periyar – Allepey ( Alappuzha ) (130 Kms / 03 ½ hrs)

Early morning we take our boat for a ride on Lake Periyar to see the wildlife. One can see herds of elephants grazing near the edges of the shoreline. Deer, sambar, gaur and wild boars can be seen flocking around the place at regular intervals.

Late morning, you will drive to Alleppey and board the Houseboat and sail though backwaters towards Alleppey for an overnight backwater cruise.

The boat cruise takes you to small islets & you get glimpses of village at the best of its serenity and innocence. Watch village girls picking mussels or laundering clothes or pots on the small ponds in front of their house, while menfolk are busy plucking coconuts, dates from the trees. Watch the village folk make the golden fibre called coir from coconut husk and transform it into various coir products. Rustling coconut groves abound. So stop over to drink calm fresh coconut water from the kernel and watch the toddy-taper tap at work. You can see birds like kingfishers, pheasants, cormorants, drogues, woodpecker, Bee-eater & kite. Meals are freshly cooked and served on the houseboat. Overnight on the Houseboat.

Day 05:             Allepey – Kollam (90 Kms / 02 hrs)

After breakfast, you will disembark from your Houseboat and proceed for Kollam. Kollam is a city in the state of Kerala, on India’s Malabar Coast. It’s known as a trade hub and for its beaches, like lively Kollam and secluded Thirumullavaram. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Police Museum has artefacts tracing the history of the police force. Nearby, Ashtamudi Lake is a gateway to the Kerala backwaters, Check in at the hotel upon arrival. Afternoon visit Jatayu Earths Center, Incorporates all aspects of tourism, offering a complete God’s own Country experience to each one of you. Spread across 65 acres of land, Jatayu Earth’s Center has elegant and mesmerizing elements that lure you for a visit. After visit back to the hotel. Overnight is at Hotel

Day 06:            Kollam – Kovalam (85 Kms / 02 hrs

After breakfast, Morning free for personal activity.
You have an option to join the adventure activities in the area.

Later check out from the hotel and drive to Kovalam. Check in at the hotel upon arrival.

Rest day is Free to enjoy on the Beach

Day 07:             Kovalam

After breakfast at the hotel.

Full day free to enjoy on the beach  Or Take the Ayurvedic treatment or massage.

Day 08:             Kovalam – Trivandrum Airport (15 Kms / 30 Min.)

After breakfast at the hotel, we drive to Trivandrum airport to board your onward flight to home.

Kochi – Periyar – Allepey – Kollam – Kovalam – Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum)
