Varanasi, a city known for the Ganges, Old Lanes and Sadhus. It is the world’s oldest living city that would intrigue you at every corner. The spiritual capital of India, Old city of Varanasi sits along the western banks of river Ganges. The city is considered to take the souls onto the path of liberation if someone dies there. It is home to the famous Banarasi Saree and one of the largest university campuses in Asia.
The noise and chaos can get on your nerve and dust might tickle your nose, but the soulful charm of the city would flabbergast you. Strolling through the lanes of the city would land you in meeting some locals trying to sell you souvenirs, tours and boat rides while the traffic might overwhelm you. On the other hand, the delicious local foods would make you want to try more. Varanasi is a bundle of experiences.
A photogenic city with some sights that you won’t experience somewhere else. Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Sankat Mochan Temple, Assi Ghat, Dashashwamedh Ghat, Harish Chandra Ghat are some of the major attractions in Varanasi. The sunrise or sunset boat rides at Ganges River is a must-have experience. Not to forget the evening time when the ghats of the city prepare to sing in the glory of the river which is an integral part of the city’s life.

On arrival in Varanasi, you are met and assisted at the Airport/Railway Station and transferred to your hotel.
Rest of the day is free.
In the early evening we will visit the Shri Kashi Vishwanatha Temple also known as the Golden Temple. Recently it was opened to people of all faiths to embrace the beauty of this old temple. Situated on the western bank of River Ganges, it is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, the holiest of Lord Shiva Temples. After the visit to the temple we will head to Dashashwamedh Ghat on the banks of the River Ganges to experience the famous Ganga Aarti. It is a prayer ceremony in the praise of the Goddess of the holy river.
Overnight at the hotel.
In the early morning at 05.00, we will start our day with a boat ride in the Ganges river to witness the sunrise. We will pass by ghats where you can see people bathing in the holy river before starting their day. We will also pass through Manikarnika Ghat (Cremation Site). It is believed that if a person is cremated at this Ghat his/her soul departs on the path of Salvation/Moksha. Many elderly people come to Varanasi to spend their last days in the holy city to cleanse their sins.
We get down from the boat at Assi Ghat to take our vehicle. We will drive through Banaras Hindu University. Established in 1916, it has one of the largest campuses in Asia. Inside the campus, we will visit Shri Vishwanath Temple. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. After visiting these places we will head to visit Bharat Mata Mandir & Durga Temple.
In the afternoon, we will head towards Sarnath. It is the place where Lord Buddha preached his first sermon after his enlightenment. Sarnath is one of the richest in Buddhist monuments as Ashoka, after realising the sanctity of the place erected many remarkable monuments In 389 BC. By the end of the 12th century, Turkish invaders ransacked the place, took away the building materials and destroyed many monuments. Sarnath is also the birthplace of many Jain monks and 11th Teerthankar. We will also visit the Archaeological Museum, with an extremely rich collection of Buddhist sculptures comprising of numerous Buddha and Bodhisatva images.
After spending the afternoon at Sarnath, late in the evening we will head back to the hotel.
Varanasi – Delhi – Home
After breakfast, we will visit Sarai Mohana village, also known as weavers’ village of Varanasi. The Sarai Mohana is well known for its silk weaving as most of the locals here are indulge in silk weaving. The Banarasi sarees made by these waivers are among the finest saris in India and are known for their gold and silver brocade or zari, fine silk and opulent embroidery.
After visiting the village we will head to Airport/Railway Station for your onward journey.
